Historically Helpful!

Opportunities Abound!

In our growing town of North Yarmouth we know there are many residents with expertise and energy. And NYHS would like to harness that potential—for the opportunity to make our community the best it can be. We believe that history is the glue that holds us all together through our shared roots in North Yarmouth.

Helping North Yarmouth Historical grow and thrive is a great way to meet others who share common interests and experiences. Interested? Here are a few ideas:

Do you love old photos, diaries, documents, genealogy? Dive into the NYHS Archives.

Are you an organizer? Love to put together events? Have an idea for a program? The Membership & Programs Committee might be the place for you!

Do you like short-term assignments? Join our Mailing Team for occasional mailings.

Comfortable entering data in spreadsheets? Like typing, transcription? Clipping news articles? Filing? We can set you up.

If you love to research and write, come join the Gazette Team. We have a lot of fun brainstorming, digging into the historical record, and sharing the results in a way that’s fun to read.

Old Town House’s restoration is still in process and our Building Committee regularly meets to work on all the details. If you have expertise in this area, don’t hesitate to get in touch. We can use you!
